What started as a protest led by taxi drivers against Uber at Mexico City's airport ended in violent rioting when angry crowds converged on the vehicles of Uber drivers with rocks and bats. The rioters smashed the windows of the cars, ripped off side mirrors, kicked the vehicle doors and threw eggs and flour inside the windows. Approximately 12 vehicles were badly damaged, but thankfully no one was seriously injured. The attacks on Uber vehicles this week are part of ongoing anger and protests against the app-based transportation service in Mexico.

Taxi drivers claim that Uber is undermining their only source of income and that recent government regulations to reign in the app have not been effective.
