Quarter Mile

Ultimate Sleeper: 738-HP Ford Falcon Clocks Quarter-Mile in the Nines

Looks absolutely bone stock, but has insane performance.

At a glance, this unassuming green Ford Falcon looks like a car your accountant father would drive. But it’s the stock appearance of the popular Aussie sedan that makes it so awesome. Under that tame facade lurks a 4.0-liter DOHC Barra inline-six with a custom Garrett GTX35 turbocharger built by XR6 Turbo Developments, mated to a Kewish-modified ZF six-speed transmission. Other upgrades include Brembo brakes, G&J tail shaft, an Eaton TrueTrac differential, and MT Street Radials.

Output is rated at 738 horsepower at the wheels, and you’ll see that’s enough for the Falcon G6E Turbo to clock the quarter-mile in 9.9 seconds.
