Does a $50,000 premium really make the Porsche any better?
The Porsche Cayman GT4 is an epic car, featuring a classic 3.8-liter flat-six engine that makes 385 hp to motivate the 3,050-lb car through the rear tires. It also has a base price of $85,595 to make up for all of this kit, so buyers shopping in the sub $40k price range may want to consider other options like the Ford Focus RS. This boasts a 2.3-liter turbocharged four cylinder pumping 350 hp to all four wheels. With an extra 400 pounds to lug around, it’s sure to be a slower car than the GT4, but numbers on paper don’t always add up in real life.
The Focus RS already surprised a BMW M2, so maybe the same trick will work here. Watch as Autocar takes the Ford Focus RS and tries to chase down a Porsche Cayman GT4 at Belgium's Spa Francorchamps.
