The first 650hp 2013 Shelby Mustang GT500 will be auctioned off before it becomes available at dealerships.
The crew at MotorCityProject has snapped some pics of the first-ever 200mph-plus at stock 2013 Shelby Mustang GT500. The muscle car seen here is the test mule used by the company for endurance testing in Italy and will be auctioned off on Saturday at the Barret-Jackson auction. By now you probably already know about the Shelby GT500's 650hp supercharged 5.8-liter V8. This particular mule is still rocking last year's taillights and will be the first one available for Mustang aficionados.
In true track fashion, it sports a pair of Recaro bucket seats and a roll cage along with its carbon fiber one-piece driveshaft. The pictures were shot at the Ice Nine Group HQ in Detroit, as they were prepping it for its day on the stage. In true mule fashion, it has color-mismatched bumpers and bug splatter from its time on the test tracks in Italy. The inside of the deck-lid was also signed by the testing crew of SVT, giving the powerful muscle car an even more authentic feel. Photos courtesy of Matt Trombley/ MotorCityProject.
