Unveiled as the most powerful Black Series model yet back in July, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is a truly special car with its 720-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Since then, the mighty GT has lived up to the hype by setting some ballistic lap times, notably achieving a new record time around the Nurburgring-Nordschleife for a production car.

Of course, this particular AMG was always going to be seriously pricey. We got an idea of what its price tag in the US could be when European pricing was shared, but now Mercedes has confirmed the magic number. The AMG GT Black Series will begin at a stunning $325,000, excluding any upgrades and a delivery charge of $1,050.

How expensive is that? Well, the Black Series costs over $200,000 more than the base AMG GT Coupe. Some of the exotics you could buy for less money include the Ferrari F8 Tributo, the Lamborghini Huracan Evo, and the most expensive version of the Bentley Continental GT. Then again, this is no ordinary Mercedes.

The GT Black Series has 590 lb-ft of torque to go along with its prodigious power output and will reach 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 202 mph. All that grunt is directed to the rear axle. Although it looks sensational in any color, Mercedes says it can be ordered in an optional AMG Magmabeam paint finish, a color reserved exclusively for this model.

For the hefty price, the GT Black Series comes standard with various carbon fiber body panels, including the hood, roof, and fenders. 19-inch front AMG wheels are complemented by 20-inch items at the back. Inside, the sporty coupe's finishes are a mix of Nappa leather, Dinamica microfiber, and contrast stitching in a choice of silver or orange.

To reduce weight, the coupe's rear windshield is fashioned from lightweight glass, while smaller details include strap handles to close the doors that are derived from motorsports. For the lucky one percent that can afford the mightiest AMG Black Series entrant yet, they can look forward to the coupe arriving at local dealers early in 2021.
