V8-Powered Ford Focus? Damn Shame It's Only for the Track

And it just so happens to be a 5.0-liter V8. Yes, the Mustang GT's V8.

Those feisty Australians always seem to know how to take a somewhat mundane family sedan and make it world's better. Ford built the Focus to be a sensible car for those who wanted something solid for the money. Fair enough, but now MARC Cars Australia has gone above and beyond anything that Ford intended. Instead of a turbocharged four-cylinder, these guys swapped in a Ford Coyote 5.0-liter V8. That's the Mustang GT V8. Oh, and they built a pair of them.

Unfortunately though, these V8 Fords were built solely for the race track. The team recently set them loose at the 12 Hours of Zandvoort endurance race in the Netherlands. And damn, do they sound incredible. Screw the EcoBoost.
