Vanderhall Motor Works is best known for its fun-to-drive three-wheeled autocycles such as the Venice, the electric Edison roadster, and the more luxurious Carmel. Now, the Utah-based firm is preparing to add a fourth model to its lineup that's unlike anything the company has built before. Teased for the first time, the Vanderhall Navarro is a new four-wheeled off-road adventure vehicle. Details are scarce, but Vanderhall promises the Navarro will "revolutionize and create a new category of adventure vehicle."

As the tongue-in-cheek teaser video explains, Vanderhall is expanding its manufacturing facility to accommodate the production of the Navarro. The trailer opens with Vanderhall proudly unveiling an off-roading Venice concept, which is crushed by the Navarro to demonstrate its capability. As teaser videos go, this is one of the more memorable ones we've seen.

"In an effort to provide new and disruptive products to bolster our dealer's profitability, cement our brand's status as the premium powersports manufacturer, and expand our total market share, Vanderhall is pleased to announce the Navarro as our next evolutionary model. The four-wheel, all-electric, off-road Vanderhall Navarro will have many groundbreaking technologies and firsts for any production powersports model," said R. Scott Bell, Vanderhall COO.

While the rugged body style suggests Vanderhall has its sights on the Jeep Wrangler, the Navarro will be fully electric. Powertrain details are being kept under wraps, but the Edison uses two electric motors to produce a combined 138 horsepower.

If Vanderhall also intends to compete with Rivian, the Navarro will need to outperform the R1T truck and R1S SUV, which has up to 750 hp and 829 lb-ft of torque. From the teaser, the Navarro sports wide wheel arches, chunky off-road tires, roof-mounted LED lights, and a short bed. Like the Wrangler, it looks like the roof will be removable.

Since the Edison only starts at $34,950, the Navarro could be a very affordable electric off-roader. Vanderhall will share more details about its new electric off-roader on October 19 before the Navarro is fully revealed on January 4, 2021. Preorders will start in the summer of 2021.
