Vantage V12 is the Best Aston Martin You Can Buy

Supercar

Get ready for your daily moment of V12 lunacy.

The Aston Martin Vantage V8 is undoubtedly a very pretty car. Despite its killer looks, however, its engine simply wasn’t powerful enough when it came to taking on the Porsche 911. But in 2009, AM came up with an absolutely wonderful solution: swap out the V8 for a V12. That would be the V12 from the now discounted DBS, only now it’s powering a smaller and lighter machine. The final result is nothing short of brilliant lunacy. With a total of 510 horsepower, the V12 Vantage hits 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds.

However, if you compare the V8’s specs to that of the V12’s, the latter’s are not all that much better. Where the V12 truly shines is its engine note, which is both vicious and harmonic all at the same time. And yes, the Vantage V12 comes with a six-speed manual.
