It's been almost seven years since the Vantage hit the market and four years since its last major overhaul.
With its most comprehensive update in four years, the gorgeous 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage is looking as good as ever thanks to a modest facelift. Its handling and performance on the other hand have been significantly improved. The base 420hp 4.7-liter V8 Vantage, naturally aspirated and linked to a six-speed gearbox, remains as is; but the optional six-speed Sportshift automatic transmission has been upgraded to a seven-speed Sportshift II sequential transmission.
This has been specially designed to provide faster and more precise shifts and this optimize acceleration. Other enhancements include a new quicker steering column, beefier brakes that significantly increase stopping power and pedal feel, and 10mm wider tires. Styling changes include a new lower front bumper and air splitter, restyled sculpted side sills and a diffuser-equipped new rear bumper.
