The BMW 3-Series, as many know, is absolutely vital to the German automaker. Making up a large amount of their annual sales, the 3-Series is one model the automaker can't afford to make any mistakes with when doing a redesign. And with the car expected to hit showrooms in the coming months, BMW has just released this video specifically for U.S. customers where some of the key players involved in designing and engineering the new 3-Series discuss it more in-depth.

From its familiar, yet subtly updated exterior design to the new interior, we're shown literally the next best thing to seeing the car in person. BMW has also come up with three new customized lines - Sport, Modern, or Luxury - that will supposedly help buyers select the best trim level to their needs.

Overall, the new 3-Series looks fantastic and in typical German fashion, BMW simply continues to evolve the car. It's powered by a standard 2.0-liter inline-four with 240hp or an optional 3.0-liter inline-six with 300hp. Look for it to be on display at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
