Volvo's answer to the BMW 1-Series and Audi A3 Sportback is coming soon. The V40 five-door hatchback has been spotted testing before by our team of spy photographers and this is the first official teaser released by the Swedish company.

The three-door C30-replacing V40 is about 175-inches long and could possibly run on a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with outputs of either 120, 150 or (at least we hope) 180hp. A diesel powerplant is also expected to be made available. Volvo is keeping details of the V40 secret for now, however when it is finally revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month, we should learn plenty more.
