Video: Aston Martin V12 Zagato Ready for Nurburgring

Zagato

The new Aston Martin V12 Zagato will finally be making its debut at this year's Nurburgring 24 Hours in the Eifel Mountains of Germany. The race, held on the 25th and 26th of June, will feature two brand new V12 Zagatos fresh off their Design award for Concepts and Prototypes win at the Concorso D'Eleganza at Villa D'Este in May. Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez will pilot one of the V12's in the race, while Aston Martin One-77 Chief Engineer Chris Porritt will pilot the second V12.

For the pair of V12 Zagatos, there will be more than just racing involved. One will be painted red and one will be painted green, but both feature white hoods with "Heart for Japan" logos on them in support for the victims of the recent tsunami in Japan. "Our entries this year extend our Nurburgring racing philosophy. For five years now we have signed-off our new products by entering a car which is as close to the road car as possible and subjecting it to the toughest 24 hour test on what best simulates the extremities of public roads," Aston Martin's Head of Motorsport David King said.
