A new action-packed Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol trailer has just been released. On top of great looking action scenes and car chases, we get to see both the BMW i8 and 6-Series Coupe right in the thick of the melee.

The BMW has called the i8 its "most progressive sportscar" and the concept which debuted in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show ran on a 1.5-liter engine gasoline engine. The hybrid powertrain puts out 349hp and can hit 62mph from rest in 4.6 seconds. As previously reported on CarBuzz, it also features what BMW calls LifeDrive architecture, which involves both passenger seating and its propulsion system being based on state-of-the-art methods of cutting weight. The concept is constructed from a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic monocoque.

This is able to offset the weight stemming from the heavy electric drive components. It also features something called PRO ECO mode, a setting that allows the driver to utilize the most energy efficient method when traveling. This is done through a combination of braking, acceleration, and other electronics. The production model should change a bit from the concept seen here in the MI4 trailer and it should launch in 2013. Until then you can see the concept in action in the action film starring Tom Cruise, opening on December 21st, 2011.
