It's been a little over ten years since the Japanese auto giant Toyota began selling its famed Prius in the United States. This year at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, Toyota has unveiled a new Prius Concept and a new production offering. We had hints last year that Toyota was planning on expanding the Prius line, and the Prius C Concept is alone those lines. The carmaker has promised that this will be the most fuel-efficient hybrid in the United States by the first half of 2012.

The design is innovative, but the C has kept the Prius' five-door design. At first glance, the C Concept looks like it may even be a coupe. The second Toyota Prius offering in Detroit comes in the form of the production-type Prius V. The V is that stretched people mover the company has been promising, complete with an extra five inches in length. It will be powered with the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder hybrid power source that will allow the MPV to net 42/39 mpg city/highway.

The Prius V is set to hit dealerships this coming summer. Enjoy the clip below.
