Video: Evo’s Harry Metcalfe Shows Off his 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint

Evo founder and avid car-collector Harry Metcalfe squeezes into his classic British sports car to demonstrate how special it is.

The main man at Evo has got some pretty amazing cars in his collection, the Pagani Zonda and Lamborghini Countach included. Here we get a chance to check out a 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint as he takes it for a spin around some English country roads in celebration of its 40th birthday. Although it may look like an antique, its performance is far from it. As Metcalfe explains this is a proper British sports car with a twin cam engine, a stunning engine note and unique gear change that sounds like a gun's being loaded.

This is a small car with big performance that would embarrass many modern sports cars on the road today. It's an interesting watch, but if you're solely interested in seeing the sprite-like sprinter in action, head to around the seven-minute mark.
