Jay Leno gives a host of onlookers some aural pleasure as he fires up his magnificent jet bike.
Not only is this one of the coolest looking bikes we've ever seen, it also one of the coolest sounding. Spotted by SoCalSpeedZone at the Rock Store on Mulholland Drive, the man with the coolest toys on the planet does the decent thing and powers up his two-wheeled beast for our aural pleasure. Built by Marine Turbine Technology of Franklin Louisiana, the jet bike is powered by a a Bell Jet Range helicopter engine, and the sound it makes when fired up is like a helicopter readying for lift off.
350hp and 475lb-ft of torque is delivered to the carbon-fiber wheels, and because the Y2K bike is turbine powered, it has phenomenal acceleration from 60mph up, while the bike is as smooth as being electric but with one of the sweetest sounds you'll ever hear.
