R.E.M.'s hit single "Nightswimming" labored longingly for the quiet nights needed to perform the act of engaging in aquatic activity with a close friend in the dark. Mercedes-Benz has captured the essence of the American song from 1992, however instead of swimming you can easily replace that with the art of drifting for their new C63 AMG Black Series. The commercial begins with some terrific exterior shots of the new, fierce coupe before it peels out of the showroom and into the dark of night.

Careening and drifting between buildings and through abandoned warehouses, showcasing the car's track-oriented performance. As a refresher, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series runs on AMG's 6.3-liter naturally-aspirated V8 which produces 510hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. The coupe runs from 0 to 62mph in just 4.2 seconds. The engine is mated to a modified AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sport gearbox. The car also weighs less than the standard C63 Coupe on which it's based on and sits lower than the base C63 AMG.

The video ends with the C63 AMG Black Series silently sliding back into its place in the showroom, running a beautiful parallel to Michael Stipe's engaging lyrics, "it's not like years ago, the fear of getting caught." Enjoy the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series in action in the clip below.
