Video: Official: Audi Q3 is Official Ahead of Shanghai Show

2011 Shanghai Auto Show / Comments

Just days after showing off the renderings of its new Q3 crossover, the officials at Audi decided that enough was enough, and went ahead and published the official photos of the new crossover ahead of its unveiling at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show. The Q3 will sport entirely new sheetmetal with Audi's well-known gaping grille, LED lighting all around and a steep sloping rear hatch. Compared to its cousin, the Tiguan, the Q3 will be short on space inside due to the shapely rear hatch.

The Q3 will be chock full of new technology, such as an electronic parking assistance and Audi's hard drive-based MMI infotainment and navigation system. There will even be an option to turn the Q3 into a wireless hotspot in the near future. Power will be supplied in the form of two gas and one diesel engine, all with direct injection.

The two most powerful ones will be mated to the Quattro all-wheel-drive system through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Still no word on price for the US, but the base price in Germany will be approximately $43,000.
