A Tesla Model S and Roadster battle it out to the electric finish in this promotional video produced by the automaker.
This is a promotional video made by Tesla to promote their two models. Thing is, they used some funky music to mute the cars' electric sounds as the pair begin tearing up the asphalt to take the electric crown of speed. Here's a brief breakdown: The Model S can accelerate from 0-60 mph in a respectable time of 5.6 seconds with a top speed of 120 mph and has two battery pack options. It has a base range of 160 miles when fully charged using a 42kW battery pack and can reach 300 miles with the optional 85kW pack.
The outgoing Roadster, on the other hand, can go from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 125 mph. It produces an output of 288hp and 295lb-ft of torque and generates power from its Energy Storage System, or ESS battery pack.
