Amazing in-car camera view of Helio Castroneves and Tony Kanaan's crash from yesterday afternoon.
Getting your throttle stuck at 170mph is not a situation any of us would ever want to be in. Tony Kanaan crashed hard into the side of Helio Castroneves in Baltimore during warm ups for the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix yesterday afternoon. As part of the IZOD IndyCar Series, it is customary for drivers to get in some practice laps before the real racing begins, and this scary sight took place Sunday afternoon. The Brazilians got lucky, as this crash could have easily been much, much worse.
Kanaan spoke this morning of the crash, saying "No brakes at 170 plus mph wasn't much fun this morning. We will try to go to the back-up car for the race. Neck and back are a bit sore." He also took responsibility in a noble gesture, saying on twitter "I want to thank and apologize to @h3lio but if wasn't for you my friend I wouldn't be here."
