Throughout the decades, Porsche has invested countless hours of passion into developing their masterpiece sports car, the iconic 911. And when a new generation debuts, the occasion is always celebrated simply due to the evolutionary engineering brilliance. Not many cars can directly trace their heritage back so many decades, but the Porsche 911 can proudly do so as it's become synonymous for many as the quintessential sports car.

And now the 991 generation has been revealed and it clearly appears to be the best yet. Powered by a standard 3.4-liter flat-six with 350hp, its rear-engine layout has dutifully remained even as its competitors are now either front- or mid-engined.

And in this new video released by Porsche, the automaker shows its proud heritage of 911 developments throughout the decades. So here's to another nearly half century and beyond.
