General Motors is slated to officially reveal the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu at the Shanghai Motor Show in mid April, but GM has also released some official teaser shots of the new vehicle to build up hype. Although we've already seen quite a few spy shots here and there for the new Malibu, the teasers show off the car's Camaro-inspired LED taillamps. GM has also stated that it plans to bring the new Malibu to the upcoming New York Auto Show.

What we know about the new Malibu is that it will ride on GM's smaller Epsilon II platform that currently underpins the Buick Regal. GM states that the Malibu is planned to be sold in over 100 countries throughout the world, so the global design will make it appealing to all markets.
