The Polar Expedition Vehicle by Ian Nisbett Design will attempt to destroy the Guinness World Record for the fastest Antarctic land crossing this coming December - exactly 100 years since the last record was made. The Polar Expedition Vehicle (PEV) represents a new era in faster and more flexible polar exploration. It is a bio-fueled vehicle that uses half the fuel of similar vehicles as well as solar panels to further reduce its overall carbon footprint.

The PEV is pushing the limits of technology and incorporates the latest in real-time GPS satellite communication and navigation. It also provides the cutting edge in survival gear, research materials and scientific equipment. It's main goal, however, is to break the current world record Antartic land crossing of 2 days, 21 hours and 21 minutes. Under the frozen cold hood, the PEV generates power from a 4-liter V6 engine churning out 320 frozen ponies. It's also equipped with a long travel adjustable suspension, 44-inch tires, 32 gears and custom axles for the toughest terrain.
