Lately it seem like there's some sort of new tuning package for the BMW X6 almost every week. Or is it just me? The latest aftermarket tuner to take a crack at BMW's successful yet semi-useless X6 crossover is US tuning specialist Vorsteiner. Launching their first teaser announcement last March, Vorsteiner has officially now unveiled details of their new VRS Aero Package for the X6 M Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV in BMW speak).

They began by adding a carbon fiber spoiler up front, which increases downforce on the front axle and also channels more air towards the engine and brakes. There's a new hood, made from that same lightweight material, featuring vents that extract the heat produced by the company-spec 550 hp V8. A carbon fiber rear diffuser that encompasses three modular fins and two vents replaces the factory piece. Rounding out the package is an add-on rear deck lid spoiler and forged mono-block aluminum alloys on Michelin PS2 tires.

Customers can also choose their own rims from Vorsteiner's vast catalogue if they don't like the standard offerings. Be sure to check out the showcase video as well as the pictures the company has released. An improvement over the spec model? Yes, but that's not hard to pull off.
