Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has announced that VF 8 City Edition deliveries will begin in the US from tomorrow, March 1. The automaker has also announced that it will host celebration events at all of its California retail locations, with reservation holders able to collect their new EVs at these events.

VinFast has retail stores in the following locales: Santa Monica, Commerce (Citadel), San Diego, San Mateo (Hillsdale), Corte Madera, Berkeley, Marina del Rey, Canoga Park (Topanga), Irvine (Spectrum), and Torrance (Del Amo).

These initial deliveries come from the first shipment of 999 City Edition models shipped to US shores in December 2022.

The VF 8 City Edition is sold as either an Eco or a Plus variant, with the former offering an EPA-rated range of 207 miles while the latter manages 191 miles.

Therefore, it may be better to have your car delivered on March 2 instead. Alternatively, you can arrange to pick up your VF 8 at the dealer at a later date. For those who have not yet bit the bullet, VinFast will arrange multiple test drive events throughout the Golden State.

After deliveries for the US market, VinFast hopes to begin sending vehicles to Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

"Our team worked tirelessly to ensure VinFast vehicles meet the highest standards of quality, fit and finish our customers expect," said Madam Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chair of Vingroup and Chairwoman of VinFast Holdings. "The presence of VinFast electric cars on US streets in the coming days is an important milestone, accelerating VinFast's journey to compete in the US and abroad."

The VF 8 City Edition Eco costs $49,000, while the Plus variant starts at $56,000. If those prices seem like too much initial outlay, the company is very passionate about alternative methods of ownership, such as leasing.
