A rare 1953 Ferrari 375 American Coupe will make its way to the coveted RM Auctions later this month in Monterey. The 375 American Coupe by Carozzeria Vignale is one of 12 original 375 Americas and one of the two Vignale-bodied coupes. This 375 coupe was originally finished in burgundy with a silver roof and tan upholstery. By 1964, it was known to have been refinished in metallic blue and its original small taillights had been replaced by larger US spec units.

Recently, it was returned to its original colors of burgundy with a silver roof. The original taillights have also been added. The dashboard was also refinished in the appropriate burgundy paint to compliment the exterior. The undercarriage and engine bay are said to be well-detailed. The 375 American first debuted at the 1954 Geneva Motor Show and had boasted a V12 engine. This classic beauty is set to fetch a price tag somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,750,000-$2,100,000. The auction takes place August 20th in Monterey, California. Photos courtesy of RM Auctions.
