The iconic Aston will make a comeback in the latest installment of the Bond franchise.
An old favorite car is set to return in a starring role in the latest Bond installment, 'Skyfall.' Confirmation came after pictures emerged of the iconic Aston Martin DB5 speeding across the countryside during filming in Glencoe, Scotland. Similar to the one seen in Goldfinger way back in 1964 and in subsequent movies Thunderball, Casino Royale, Tomorrow Never Dies and GoldenEye, this is the first time the car will be involved in a full bloodied car chase since its debut.
Of course it won't be the exact model that Sean Connery drove in Goldfinger and Thunderball as this was bought by an American in auction for $2.9 million back in 2010, with the car featuring all the original gadgets from the films including bulletproof shield, passenger ejector seat and oil slick sprayer. The new movie car has been spied with the same BMT 216A number plate it wore in Goldfinger, whie racing driver and the former Stig on Top Gear Ben Collins was also spotted on set in London as Daniel Craig's stunt driver, a role he has done twice before in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
The Bond franchise will celebrate its 50th anniversary with Skyfall starring Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judie Dench and Ralph Fiennes. Set to be launched in November, IMBD summarize the plot thus: "Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost."
