It's been just over two months since the first Volkswagen ID. Buzz rolled off the production line.

We knew the aftermarket would be quick to offer accessories, but we weren't expecting to see the quirky van slammed to the ground with a carbon fiber body kit so soon. It comes from the Norwegian tuner Zyrus Engineering, the same group of mad men who built a bonkers 1,200-horsepower Lamborghini Huracan race car and then made it street legal.

A couple of Zyrus Engineering's customers had pre-ordered the ID. Buzz from Volkswagen, which means the demand for this kit certainly exists. It was co-designed with a company called BlackFishDesign and uses carbon fiber impregnated (prepreg) with a synthetic resin.

The kit includes a rear spoiler, rear diffuser, front splitter, mirror covers, and side skirts. A set of 22-inch wheels with carbon fiber aero discs are sold separately. According to Zyrus, each part is hand-made and available in a high gloss finish, matte, or paint matched to the van or customer's paint-to-sample requests.

While the car in the images provided is quite extreme, you can get that slammed look without lowering the car. The carbon fiber side skirts should give the van a lower look without compromising the ride quality or practicality. Zyrus says it adds to the "aerodynamic feel of the ID Buzz, saving energy and adding extra glide factor."

'We thought it would be a great idea to launch it worldwide as it is such a cool concept for our Z Buzz. Daily driving to school or getting groceries needn't be a boring mission ever again, we have bought one ourselves, and we are super excited; my daughter loves it," said Zyrus Engineering CEO Radni Molhampour.

The kit is available for preorder now for a little over $12,000, and the wheels for just over $5,000. All the parts are available separately as well.

We suspect this will be the first of a flood of aesthetic upgrades for the VW's electric van.
