Only two more days remain until we see the long-awaited Volkswagen ID.Buzz in its production form. VW's hotly anticipated electric van debuted as a concept way back at the 2017 North American International Auto Show, meaning we've been waiting half a decade for it to arrive for real. We will finally get to see the ID.Buzz (without its colorful camo wrap) on March 9 at 1:00 pm ET, but before the big reveal, VW is teasing even more details.

VW has already put out a few teasers showing the van's exterior, but this is the first time the German automaker has official shared any images of the interior. Of course, we've already seen leaked spy shots of the cabin earlier this year, but these official photos show some interesting new details.

VW says the ID.Buzz will come with seven different single color interior options and four two-tone color schemes, like the white and orange combination pictured above. These interior choices will change depending on the exterior color. The two-tone interiors pay homage to the original T1 van, also known in the US as the "microbus" or "minibus." In addition to the funky colors on the seats, owners can choose one of 30 available ambient light colors.

Aside from offering a whopping 1,121 liters (39.6 ft3) of luggage space with all the seats in place, the ID.Buzz will also pack useful features like a a bottle opener and an ice scraper. VW will offer the ID.Buzz in a five seater passenger configuration or as a cargo van, though the latter isn't slated to arrive in the US market.

Also pictured in the teaser images are several Easter eggs scattered throughout the cabin. The photos show two silhouettes of the ID.Buzz Concept and a winking smiley face, likely a reference to the 1960s counter-culture hippie movement that heavily involved the Type 2 (nicknamed the Love Bus). We think the hippies would love this new ID.Buzz, as it not only runs on electricity, but also uses recycled materials inside for the seat covers, floor coverings, and headliner.

We look forward to seeing the production ID.Buzz later this week.
