Volkswagen discontinued the Touareg in the US back in 2017, but the popular crossover continues to be a strong seller in Europe, especially as the all-new generation model launched last year. Just to make us jealous, Volkswagen even added a new V8 engine option that boosted the Touareg up to 416 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.

Seventeen years since it was first introduced, the one-millionth Volkswagen Touareg has rolled off the production line. The US helped VW achieve this impressive milestone, as the Touareg was sold in America from 2004-2017. To celebrate, Volkswagen is launching a new special edition model imaginatively called the "Touareg One Million."

Distinguishing the special-edition Touareg is a new Sechura Beige paint option and two new types of wheel rim including high-gloss polished 20-inch Bogota wheels or 21-inch Suzuka wheels in Adamantium Silver.

Further enhancing the exterior are darkened rear lights, high-quality sill panel trims with special "One Million" badging. The same badge also appears on the B-pillar. Elsewhere, the wheel arch strips and diffuser are painted in Black Gloss. The commemorative Touareg can also be upgraded with the R-Line Black Style exterior package, which adds exterior mirrors in Reflection Silver among other exterior upgrades.

Inside, the stylish interior features unique Puglia leather seat covers colored with olive leaf extracts, while the upper parts of the front seats and the insides of the doors are decorated with high-quality diamond stitching in Amber Brown, which has also been applied to the dashboard, steering wheel, and the gear lever. Even the key gets the Puglia leather treatment. There are also decorative trim elements in Silver Wave, while the fully digital Innovision Cockpit controls the air conditioning system and seat heating, among other features.

Powering the Volkswagen Touareg One Million is a 3.0-liter, V6 TDI diesel engine that produces 282 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, enabling the SUV to hit 0-62 mph in 6.1 seconds and top out at 146 mph. Pricing for the special-edition Touareg start at 80,880 euros ($90,703).
