No surprise, it costs more than a standard V60 wagon.
Volvo is one of the few automakers that has not given up on wagons in the United States, as evidenced by the fact it now has two wagon models in its lineup. The smaller V60 wagon debuted alongside the S60 sedan, and much like the larger V90, it spawned a lifted CrossCountry model. The V60 CrossCountry is Volvo's answer to wagon shoppers who want the added ride height of a crossover but prefer the styling of a wagon. We didn't know how much the privilege of owning one would actually cost until now, because Volvo has finally put a price on 2020 V60 CrossCountry on its online configurator, which shows it coming in around $5,000 more than a base V60.
The V60 CrossCountry starts at $45,100 plus a $995 destination fee, bringing the total starting price to $46,095. Unlike the standard V60, which is available in Momentum, Inscription, R-Design, and Polestar Engineered trim levels, the V60 CrossCountry comes in a single Adventure trim with the T5 AWD engine - a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The more powerful T6 and T8 powertrains are not available in the CrossCountry.
Base equipment includes 18-inch five-spoke wheels, leather upholstery, dual tailpipes, lane keep assist, iron ore interior inlays, and a high-performance audio system. Ice White is the only no-cost option, with the others coming with a $645 fee. The only other exterior upgrades are 19-inch wheels for $800 and quad exhaust pipes for $285.
Load a V60 CrossCountry up with options and packages and the price will approach the $60,000 mark. Our favorite option is the plaid interior Volvo calls 'Blond City Weave Textile in Charcoal Interior.' If we were to option out our ideal V60 CrossCountry, it would have Pine Grey Metalic Paint, 19-inch wheels, Blonde City interior, the $2,500 Advanced Package, and the Bowers & Wilkins Premium audio for a total cost of $54,040. Sadly, the Blonde City interior cannot be paired with ventilation and massage functions with the $2,200 Luxury Package.
