German Volvo tuner Heico Sportiv reveals special edition model to mark its partner Pirelli's anniversary.
To celebrate Pirelli's 50 years in Germany and mark its recent relationship with the Italian tire maker, Germany-based Volvo tuner Heico Sportiv has unveiled a special edition V40, which comes packed with modifications. The most important of these were made under the hood, with the 1.6-liter turbo four receiving a 50hp boost to 200 hp courtesy of the e.motion ECU. Torque has also been increased, from 177 to 221 lb-ft, and the result is a new 0-62 mph time of 7.9 seconds, down from 8.8, while top speed jumps from 131 to 143 mph thanks to the new speed pack.
Visually, the special edition Volvo is distinguished by a body kit made up of a front spoiler and faux-diffuser rear skirt, a stainless-steel exhaust finished in black chrome and chrome plating, a decorative red strip, and a new set of 19-inch Volution VII alloys wrapped in, what else, Pirelli P Zero rubber. The car has also been dropped 30 mm closer to the tarmac. The black and red theme continues inside where the sports steering wheel, gear shift and handbrake lever have been stitched in red, and the speedometer and center console finished in piano black.
