The new Volvo S60/V60 Polestar has broken cover with power coming from a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six cylinder engine rated at 350 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Beefed up with a performance intercooler and stainless-steel exhaust, the engine is linked to a six-speed automatic. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters have been recalibrated for swifter shifts and a launch control function has been added along with a new Haldex four-wheel drive system for better torque distribution.

Despite weighing a hefty 1,822 kg, 0-62 mph is a claimed 4.9 seconds, 124 mph takes 17.7 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. Polestar has upgraded the S60's chassis with a new Ohlins shock absorbers, performance brakes front and rear, 20-inch ET53 alloys, while new front splitters and new rear spoiler and diffuser help to optimize airflow around the car. Inside, a new steering wheel has been fitted along with sports seats. Pricing and availability has yet to be revealed but Volvo said the new S60 and V60 Polestar models will be sold around the world in limited numbers.
