Here's how you can do it.
While car subscriptions fight for relevancy, the Care By Volvo program remains one of the best available in 2020. For those unfamiliar, Care By Volvo is essentially Netflix, but for cars. You can pay a monthly fee to subscribe to a car with no negotiations or haggling, down payment, or commitment. Volvo says that interest in the program is growing, and the company continues to offer more models on the service.
The 2021 Volvo XC40 was the first model available in the program, but you can now subscribe to the S60, XC60, and XC90 as well. Volvo previously let subscribers switch cars after 12 months, but the company just announced that it will chop down that wait time significantly.
Although the program lasts 24 months, Care By Volvo subscribers can now upgrade or return their car any time after the first four months. So if you begin subscribing to an XC40 and quickly realize that you need the extra space of the XC60, you can swap it out after just a few months.
"Care by Volvo has been very popular in bringing new people into the Volvo brand," said Peter Wexler, Head of Care by Volvo. "By offering our customers flexibility alongside insurance, tire protection, maintenance, and other services, we believe Care by Volvo is the most flexible all-inclusive option available when it comes to car ownership."
As a reminder, the Care By Volvo program doesn't just include the price of the car. The monthly fee also covers insurance and factory scheduled maintenance services, including wear items like replacement wiper blades, brake pads, and rotors. Earlier this year, Volvo changed the program so customers can now walk into a dealership and pick any car in retail stock to purchase, lease, or subscribe.
Volvo currently lists the XC40 and S60 starting at $650 per month, the XC60 at $700 per month, and the XC90 at $750 per month.
