VTEC and Turbo Get in a Fight, Blow Off Flywheel

Crash

These sorts of situations are always hardest on the flywheels.

Is there such a thing as too much power? Well, there sure was for this engine. The CRX in the following video has apparently had the boost cranked up a bit too high. Honda engines tend to like to rev, with lightweight rotating mass that is notoriously fragile when it comes to forced induction. This is especially true when combined with VTEC variable valve timing, and the following video shows what happens when you push it just a bit too far.

What has happened here is that the car's flywheel has decided to escape from its home under the hood, and has taken a lot of other important bits with it.
