Let's face it: Germans love the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Heck, pretty much the entire world has a soft spot for the original hot hatch, currently in its seventh generation. And now, German-founded tuning firm ABT Sportline has released its modified Golf GTI. Fittingly, it's simply called the ABT Golf GTI, and yes, this kit is available to US customers as well. So, what's included here? According to ABT, the front spoiler and front grille have been upgraded, and a set of headlight covers have been added.

More aerodynamic add-ons include mirror caps and side skirts that ABT claims "form a sort of attractive connection with the rear, which, in turn, with its rear skirt set and trunk lid attachment radiates unobtrusive dominance." OK, then. Out back, there's a four-pipe exhaust system, a common ABT design element, and a downpipe with sport catalyst is also available. There doesn't appear to be any modifications to the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, but there are available suspension springs that lower the cog, as well as improve road handing capabilities. But still, more power is more power, and we all know the Golf GTI is capable of handling more. Just saying.

Additional options include a height adjustable suspension kit for the front and rear axle, along with anti-roll bars. Wheel sizes range from 18- to 20-inches. Obviously there are many choices here, and they're designed to fit just about any budget.
