It's a 500-horsepower supercar.
Volkswagen is the latest carmaker to unveil a GT6 concept, with its GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo set to be revealed in the metal next week at the 2014 Worthersee festival. Despite being based on an open-top hot-hatch, VW insists on describing its creation as a “supercar.” And here's why. Under all that aggressive styling lurks a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6unit capable of 503 hp and 491 lb-ft.
All that juice is sent to its massive 20-inch alloys via a 7-speed dual-clutch and 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. Keeping things in check are “supercar-style” vented brake discs, measuring 15 inches up front, 14 inches at the rear. We look forward to bringing you live shots of the car when it's unveiled in Austria on May 28.
