In a brilliant public-service spot designed to showcase thedangers inherent in texting and driving, Volkswagen recently used this crowdedHong Kong movie theater to prove just how perilous a momentary distraction canbe. The ad starts off with a driver’s point-of-view shot of a car driving downan empty road, when the entire audience simultaneously gets a distracting textmessage. When the phones start beeping and people take their eyes off the “road,”the result is a very powerful message.
