Three rows and “emotional” styling will help the company reach 800,000 annual sales, says vice president.
Volkswagen has continuously been very skimpy regarding details ofits upcoming large crossover, currently nicknamed the “B SUV”. But speaking toAutomobile, the company’s vice president of product planning said that the nextbig thing from VW would set an “awesome benchmark” for the entire crossoversegment. He promised that the model would be a “true Volkswagen”, combininginnovation, emotion, quality and design to conquer the US market.
VW hopes to reach a new sales high in the coming years, withthe upcoming SUV playing an important role in their 800,000 unit-per-year target. Company execs hope that the crossover, which will be manufactured in NorthAmerica, will help the company expand its current customer demographic. Thecrossover will be launched in 2016, joining a host of new models from thecompany.
