VW is planning a new single-seater EV cocnept that will make its way to Germany next month for the Frankfurt Auto Show.
According to several reports, Volkswagen will debut their new single-seater experimental EV concept at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show. The car will make its first appearance in Berlin on September 8th and then make its way to Germany's premier auto show later in the month. The new Volkswagen EV concept should take inspiration from the XL1 concept that we saw earlier this year. The XL1 was an incredibly efficient car which featured a 1-liter 2-cylinder TDI (diesel) machine that could pull upwards of 261mpg.
"It's a new kind of mobility - a new vehicle concept. Also, it's physics. If you limit a car to one person, you can make it smaller, less weight, you need less energy to transport the person, and then obviously... it can be better on CO2 and fuel efficiency," VW research head Juergen Leohold told the Financial Times. This new one-seat automobile will run fully on electricity according to sources around the German automaker. We will have more information on the new concept when it makes its debut next month.
