Right, so we know the new Bugatti Chiron is fast. But is it faster than an actual race car? Say a Le Mans racer? Turns out the answer is yes. According to Carscoops, Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer drove the Chiron to a new top speed of 236 mph last weekend during a track run at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. To give you an idea as to just how fast the Chiron went, it was 23 mph faster than the Audi R18 prototype race car. Oh, and that Audi just so happened to be the fastest LMP1 prototype at Le Mans.
But supposedly the Chiron can go even faster than 236 mph. With its nearly 1,500 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque, it's said to have a top speed of 261 mph. Welcome to the era of the Chiron.
