Want a Lambo Gallardo Squadra Corse? It'll Cost You

Supercar

That's the thing with supercars. They're just ridiculously expensive.

It will more than likely be the final Gallardo, which is perhaps the most successful model Lamborghini has ever built. And there’s no doubt that it’ll become a collector’s piece. That’s why you need to buy a Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse. If only it were that simple. Why exactly? It’s priced from $261,200. But oh, is it worth it. Weighing in at just over 2,950 lbs., the Squadra Corse is just over 150 lbs. lighter than the Gallardo Super Trofeo race car on which it’s based.

Interestingly, it will only be offered in yellow, but these images from Lamborghini show otherwise. Strange. Anyway, it's powered by that familiar and wonderful 5.2-liter V10 that pumps out 570 horsepower. It’ll blast from 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Only 15 examples will be sent to the US (three to Canada) and it’ll premiere at Frankfurt next month. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, there’s also a $2,100 gas guzzler tax.
