Is a water cooled 911 an abomination? Not a problem that the 993 had to worry about.

The most hardcore of Porsche purists would have you believe the 911 reached its peak from 1993 to 1998, when Porsche was producing the Type 993. The 993 was the most advanced 911 that still retained the original air-cooled setup for the engine. It also introduced the line to twin-turbocharging for the Turbo model, was the basis for the first GT2 and was one of the first cars ever with OBD2 diagnostics.
