Despite having been around for more than a decade now, the Dodge Challenger continues to steal the hearts and minds of American gearheads, especially the SRT Hellcat which epitomizes the muscle car spirit with its 797-horsepower V8 heart and Pitbull attitude. This car might not be the best handling thing on the road, but few are able to catch it in a straight line, and as we've seen, it's a true drag-strip hero. But what happens when you allow one to run rampant on the highways of Germany? In the following video, we get the chance to see one of these American beasts rip up the Autobahn in a vulgar display of power.

Before we delve into the video, it is important to note some facts about the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. This lumbering muscle car weighs in at around 4,400 pounds which isn't exactly featherweight material but is motivated by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 717 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque, or 797 hp and 707 lb-ft in Redeye guise. This means a zero to sixty time of around 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 203 mph. The car in the video has been tuned to produce 888 hp, so one can only imagine the performance on offer.

The video starts off with the green Challenger climbing onto the highway at an easy pace. The whine from the supercharger penetrates the cabin and instantly causes goosebumps. After a while, the road clears up and the drive punches it. The speedometer reads in kilometers per hour, and the numbers just keep racing upward. At the 155 mph mark, things don't seem to slow down at all, and eventually, the car tops out at 185 mph, but the car clearly has more to give. We would like to thank Germany on behalf of car guys and gals everywhere for your amazing highways.
