Twin-turbos make the Raptor an easy truck to tune.
Even before the latest Ford F-150 Raptor hit showrooms, American tuning shop Hennessey had announced plans to build a 600-horsepower version. The result is the new Hennessey VelociRaptor 600, which produces, you guessed it, 600 hp and 622 lb-ft of torque. Those are pretty good performance gains over the stock Raptor's 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph in the VelociRaptor 600 takes just 4.2 seconds and Hennessey predicts that it will complete the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds. Although, why should we trust the estimation?
Rather than just spew out numbers, Hennessey likes to prove how fast its cars can go. How better to show the VelociRaptor's performance gains other than a drag race against the stock Raptor?
Obviously, the drag race isn't even close and the VelociRaptor pulls out eight truck lengths against the Raptor. Some people don't like the new Raptor because it loses the old truck's amazing-sounding V8, but it is hard to argue with the amazing tunability of this new EcoBoost engine.
