Remember, weight is half of power-to-weight ratios.
The Volkswagen Golf was originally built in order to be a replacement for the Beetle, and as such, early models were very simple and therefore light. But they can be made to be even lighter, and the engine even more powerful. Bridge To Gantry tells us the Golf in this video has had enough stripped down or replaced that it weighs only 2,200 lbs now. The engine has been coaxed to 300 hp, and while that might not sound like very much, the low weight means that it can be seen here outrunning all kinds of cars.
It is an awesome shed-built project. Photo credit to firstname.lastname@example.org
