Huracan Evo Spyder

Some crash footage emerged from the UK this week, and it's dividing the internet. It's the ultimate battle between England's upper and lower classes, as a Lamborghini allegedly plowed into an innocent Hyundai i40.

The Lamborghini in question is a Huracan Performante Spyder, which is no longer in production. It was replaced with the Evo Spyder, which will likely be the last drop-top Huracan unless the famous Italian brand wants to go the Ultimae route with the baby Lambo.

The i40 is essentially a rebadged sixth-generation Sonata, produced before Hyundais became desirable.

But before we go any further, have a look at the video shared on Twitter below.

As you no doubt have noticed, the accompanying text is hot trash. The poster claims that the Lamborghini plowed into the Hyundai, but that's obviously not what happened. The Spyder came to a complete stop before the Hyundai did the plowing. The Hyundai did not just plow. It drove straight over the wedge-shaped supercar, crushing a few pounds of carbon fiber. It's unlikely the car is a write-off since all of the expensive stuff is housed behind the cockpit.

The Lamborghini is not without blame, however. It's clear from the footage that he wasn't speeding, but look closely, and you'll notice that the Lamborghini's left indicator was on. The person in the i40 likely thought the supercar was turning left, which meant there was a possible gap in the busy road.

The blame here is probably 50:50.

Oddly, suburban vehicles driving over exotica is not a phenomenon limited to the UK.

Last month, we reported on a Ford Explorer that drove right over a wedge-shaped C4 Corvette. In that case, the guilty party was a lot easier to identify. How do you not notice a teal blue 'Vette?

Neither the driver of the Lamborghini nor the driver of the i40 was hurt in the accident, and that's the most important thing. We are impressed by the i40's off-road prowess and robust build quality. It appears mostly unharmed, apart from a bashed bumper and possible front suspension damage from trying to mount a supercar.
