The summer blockbuster will arrive in theaters on June 9, 2023.
Another Transformers movie is coming to the big screen this summer. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will premiere on June 9, 2023 and Paramount Pictures has just released the first official trailer. We got our first look at what's in store over a year ago. As one could expect from this franchise, the visual effects are the main focus, rather than the story. That's all fine and good because, we gotta admit, this movie is going to be visually stunning.
A classic-bodied Porsche 911 is clearly the star of the movie and it's shown in action throughout the trailer. Another old school classic car also turns into a robot in the new movie: a second-generation Chevy Camaro. Consider us gearheads down for tickets already.
The plot will consist of the usual robots fighting robots in an ancient fight dating back millions of years with us human beings caught up in the middle.
Rise of the Beasts, the seventh Transformers movie since 2007, "will take audiences on a '90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons." Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback star in the new movie that's directed by Steven Caple Jr. A yellow Camaro has been a staple of the franchise since the beginning and it's cool to see it continue here, only with an older model.
But it's the silver 911 that's caught our attention the most. We have little doubt Porsche fans will enjoy seeing their beloved 911 on the big screen but watching it turn into a robot is something else. It's definitely something more for kids but clearly, there's something here for everyone to enjoy.
It's not unusual for older cars featured on either the big or small screen to suddenly increase in value but, as we all know, classic-bodied 911s continue to sell for high amounts. Chances are this movie won't have an impact on that but it's still great to see old 911s in action.
