While we wait for the new version of the Toyota 86 to be launched, most of us have been keeping ourselves relatively up to date by checking out the latest Subaru BRZ, the 86's twin. But what if you already own the old Toyota 86 (or Scion FR-S)? With its 2.0-liter Boxer engine generating 205 horsepower to the skinny rear wheels borrowed from a Prius, this is a really fun car to drive. It's well-balanced, easy to slide, and relatively tame, but it seems that even 205 hp is too much for one 19-year-old man whose car flew off a bridge in Boston before landing on another ramp.

We're making light of the situation, but judging by the short news clip above, it seems that this was quite the ordeal for the young man from Lynnfield, Massachusetts. The damage to the car looks intense, but the good news is that the car appears to have landed the right way up, and police are reporting that the driver was "alert and conscious" when they arrived on the scene. Although he was standing outside the car, it seems that he had some potentially serious injuries and had to be taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. Unfortunately, there's no word on his condition just yet.

There's also no indication of what caused the crash or how it could have been avoided, but reports indicate that there was a camera nearby that captured the footage of the incident. Presumably, police are currently reviewing the video to aid their investigation efforts. This isn't the first time that such a thing has happened on I-93 southbound, as a pickup was involved in something similar about five years ago, although that case was confirmed to be the result of driving while under the influence. We hope that the young man is recovering well and that he can one day look back on this and laugh.
