Some drivers are taking full advantage of the uncommonly empty streets, going for high-speed joyrides when the mood takes them. We've already seen several drivers get clocked at speeds approaching 200 mph in the US and Canada, but this crazy speeder in the UK beats them all.

The owner of an Audi RS6 Avant wanted to see what it was capable of. But instead of putting the 591-hp performance wagon through its paces on a race track, they decided to film themselves attempt a top speed run on a stretch of highway. Shocking footage shows the Audi RS6 being pushed to its absolute limit, reaching a staggering speed of 202 mph - that's nearly three times the legal speed limit of 70 mph.

As if this wasn't already dangerous enough, the driver only had one hand on the steering wheel while filming as they blast down the highway at an insane speed. Fortunately, there weren't many other cars on the road, but the driver still could have easily lost control, which would have serious consequences at this speed.

In stock form, the Audi RS6 Avant has a top speed of 155 mph, but this can be increased to 190 mph if you have ceramic brakes installed. Audi has historically been rather lax with its speed limiters though, so an indicated 202 mph is well within the realm of possibility, provided the RS6 in question hadn't been modified.

Police are still trying to track the speeder down. "We are aware of this horrific driving. I have tasked some investigative work to see if we can identify the car involved and the relevant location. If we do we will seek the most robust action possible," said Superintendent Andy Cox.

If you don't want to get caught, filming yourself hitting over 200 mph on a public highway and publishing the video online probably isn't a wise idea. Several people who have watched the video have already identified the stretch of motorway. This will allow police to use license number plate recognition cameras to track the speeder down, so it's only a matter of time before they receive a hefty fine, a driving ban and possibly a jail sentence. Clearly, their minute of fame wasn't worth it.
